Players Meeting – Saturday 29th June at 10am (including bacon sandwiches and drinks!)

Ahead of the new season we would like to invite all players, old and new, to Cooke Fields for a pre-season meeting.

During the meeting the coaching staff will outline their plans for pre-season and beyond, whilst players will be given every opportunity to have their input into these plans for both on and off the field. Further topics will include the transition of junior players into senior rugby, improved support for players, development of casual training and the season goals, but we really want to hear about what’s important to you!

Any new players are particularly welcome, and current players are encouraged to bring along any mates who may be considering a new club or returning to the game. This not only includes players who aspire to play 1st XV rugby but any player wishing to be a part of Lichfield Rugby Club. A key area we are looking to develop this year is what we can offer alongside our senior training in order to encourage players new to the game, or those who have been away from it for a period of time. We plan to run sessions that specifically target our current 3rd XV players and hopefully engage ‘casual’ or new players to join them.

This year offers a fantastic opportunity for us to build on the growth in the playing sections of the club over the last 12 months and further develop the three senior men’s teams - who will all be playing in enjoyable and competitive league structures – as well as the Colts and their involvement in the senior section.

Look forward to seeing you all after a great off-season break. Please get there if you possibly can (Bourney will get the bacon in!!)

Dan Hemingway (Men's Head Coach)
