HEAD COACH (MEN’S RUGBY)

ROLE AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head Coach will work with the senior men’s squad and be responsible for the delivery of the coaching programme.

The position reports to the Director of Rugby.

Responsibilities include:
· Working with the Director of Rugby to create a positive rugby experience for all senior men’s players.
· Coordinating with other coaching staff to deliver effective training sessions.
· Communicating effectively with players, staff and club media.
· Contributing to the evolution of the teams principles and playing style, working with the Director of Rugby to formulate short, medium and long terms plans that match the vision of the club.
· Delivering well planned, effective and engaging coaching sessions which match the purpose and playing philosophy of Lichfield Rugby Club.
· Working with individual players to ensure they understand their strengths and areas for development.
· Working in coordination with the rest of the coaching staff to develop players individual skills and the team’s playing philosophy.
· Assisting with the development of coaching in the mini and junior section where possible.
· Conducting themselves in a manner which is in-keeping with the values of Rugby Union and Lichfield RUFC, including the development of the “one-club ethos”.
· Reporting back to the Director of Rugby on player successes, challenges, player numbers and any additional requirements which need to be fed back to the Exec committee.

COMMITMENT
· The role will require the individual to be present at training sessions and fixtures, i.e.
· Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm until 8.30pm.
· Saturday afternoons approx. 1.30pm – 5.30pm depending on kick off time.
It is of course accepted that occasionally ‘other’ work/personal commitments may prevail.

REMUNERATION & CONDITIONS
· Renumeration package available based on strength of candidate.
· Role will be reviewed at the end of the 2024/25 season
· Should the club feel the individual has acted against the values of Rugby Union or Lichfield RUFC, the agreement can be terminated immediately.
