U15s are County Champions & U13s win semi-final

U16s Girls

Lichfield players were representing county sides this weekend.

Staffordshire u16s; Maddie Pugh, Annabelle Pugh & Niamh Oxley

North Mids u16s; Emily Hodson

U15s Boys

Staffs u15 Final; Lichfield 28-26 Burton

LRUFC hosted the u15s Staffs County Finals, with Lichfield facing Burton in the Main Final match.

Lichfield held a commanding 21-7 half-time lead despite having a further 2 tries disallowed. Burton responded strongly in the 2nd half, with a chance to level the match in the final minutes. Their missed conversion proved costly and Lichfield held on to take the title.

U14s

Lichfield 25-12 Walsall

Walsall started the match strongly and were ahead within the first 5 mins. Lichfield were out under sustained pressure but held strong with some excellent defence.

Half-time Lichfield 5-12 Walsall

With 28 players available the Lichfield coaches made significant half-time changes. The 2nd half was dominated by Lichfield, who prevented Walsall scoring, while scoring 4 times to take a well deserved win.

U14 & U12 Girls

28 players from the u12 & u14 girls squads had a joint training session, focusing on passing handling skills, as match preparation for both teams over the next few weeks.

U13 Boys

Staffs Cup Semi-Final; Telford 20-35 Lichfield

U13s travelled to Telford Hornets for the Staffs Cup semi-final, to face a team that hadn’t conceded a single try thoughout the competition so far.

A strong, resilient, disciplined, hard working and skilful Lichfield team came out 20-35 winners.

They progress to the final where they face Burton U13s at Tamworth RFC.

U11s

Ashbourne v Lichfield

U11s had a tough day at the office losing all games to a very well drilled Ashbourne team. Both squads were evenly matched, but Ashbourne were superb at the breakdown and ruck, which starved Lichfield of the ball.

U9s

U9s had a Gladiators themed training session this week to build a bit of tackling confidence. They also practiced running onto the ball. Sammy, Danny, Jacob Bytheway and Leo Girasoli were great all the way through the session. Special mention from the coaches to Sean as most improved player.

U8s

U8s training session consisted of 3 small training drills followed by practice matches. The focus of this week was using passing to beat defences, and having a defensive shape with players holding positions rather than just running for tags.

Coaches player went to Guy Williams and Jamie Herbert

U7s

U7s worked really well in training on realigning after giving a pass. Coaches gave particular shout-outs to Harry, Charlie and Sebastien.
