The sport, promoted by the RFU and sponsored by mobile brand O2, involves all aspects of rugby, but without contact. The game requires players to work together to keep the ball alive with the attacking team utilising their players to try and work gaps in the oppositions defence and score tries.

It's an active sport and but all members of the team can get involved no matter what their skill or fitness level.

As a non-contact sport, women and men can play in the same team and the age range can be more varied than contact rugby.

To add an extra layer of fun, games take place to rip-roaring sound tracks, designed to make the sessions more like a fun workout, but keeping that competitive edge.

Players can download an app to their smartphone which helps them book touch rugby sessions and earn points for taking part, which can be exchanged for apparel.
