Lichfield RUFC are delighted to announce a new partnership agreement with Leicester Tigers to really help boost the development of women’s and girls’ rugby, both at the Club and in the wider rugby community.
The new agreement will see Tigers provide significant new support for Lichfield Ladies through development work in the local schools and with coaching of the girls’ junior teams, whilst also providing a clear pathway for our best female talent to progress into the professional game.
We believe this is the best plan for our ladies and girls and matches the approach we have on the men/boys side - where we also aim to be the best community amateur club that we can possibly be, and support any players that have the skills and aspiration to move on to play at even higher levels.
Roz Jermine, our Head of Ladies’ Rugby, said: “We are really excited to be involved in this opportunity. We’ve always worked really hard to get as many people as we can involved in playing rugby and then give everyone the chance to get as high as possible in the game. Everyone at Lichfield is really looking forward to working with the Tigers team to get even more players into the game and them progressing into successful Lichfield and Tigers squads for many years to come.”
