Lichfield U12’s travelled to Worcester Warriors to take part in the Land Rover Cup Tournament. They played 3 matches against Worcester, Dursley & Old Cryptian Tigers.
All 3 games were tough affairs with Lichfield tending to dominate early exchanges and forge ahead before coming under sustained pressure as the games went on.
Lichfield played an open and expansive game with some great examples of quick combination play to get the ball into the wide channels.
Their defensive skills were really tested in each game but generally held up very well, particularly when they got off the line quickly.
For a game of ‘touch’ rugby there was a lot of physicality on display and several enthusiastic tackles made but it was also a huge amount of fun.
A huge thanks to Dave Holt for organising the event, to parents for travelling to support the players and of course to the players themselves who did a great job representing the club.
