Thank you to all the boys that turned up for the early training session it was good to have input from Max and I hope that the boys enjoyed it as much as I did.
Thank you also to all those who stayed and watched the game.
As warned Broadstreet did not disappoint in their performance and justified their 2 and half year run without defeat.
In defeat we can learn ... and there were some really good plus points .. in the first quarter we matched a much bigger team and but for a few silly errors we could have been equal.. unfortunately 20-10 to Broadstreet at the drinks break.
In the 2nd & 3rd Quarters Broadstreet used their bigger players in every play around rucks and mauls ultimately creating space for their Star Player to run in numerous trys on the outside. Score 60 - 15 to Broadstreet.
As coaches we were extremely proud of the boys and despite being out muscled throughout the game our heads did not drop. We suffered numerous injuries and a number of key players had to leave the pitch.....
However.. in the 4th and final quarter we started to match in all areas.. and put up a great fight and lost the quarter 10 - 5.
Although this was a defeat... We are really proud of the boys..
Remember lads... WE are at the START of OUR journey... And we probably threw away 5 or 6 try opportunities in this game!
Next Sunday is a fun day for all.. we will work on a few issues on Wednesday... but then relax for Sundays Parents V Lads Game.
Parents... we need all ladies and gents to compete..v 30 players.. Obviously we are full contact but the kids are touch only !!! lololol
Thank you all for your support so far ... The future looks extremely bright and I know we have some great talent that will shine in the months and years moving forwards. Be proud of your boys... they are ace and it is a privilege to help them develop.
Happy Sunday
Tim and The Coaches
