Lichfield welcomed Market Harborough to Cooke Fields in their first outing since the Xmas break.
The hosts dominated the opening 10-15 minutes and soon established a 15-0 lead. We became a little disjointed in places as the game wore on and allowed the opposition more possession and territory through some unforced errors eventually leading to a try for MH that was matched by a try for Lichfield. The home team pushed on and recovered their commitment in the final period to score a further three tries before conceding a try on the final whistle.
Overall the team operated effectively and efficiently. The scrum and forward play was strong with room for improvement with our body positioning in ruck situations. There was good distribution from scrum half to fly half and out to backs. Some very promising running lines from centre field out to each respective wings. Great support play and good in the breakdown with some improvements in jackal tacking and pushing the opposition off.
Some good team spirit on show but we can further improve on communication and consistency of aggression throughout the match.
A good return to rugby and great outcome.
