What can I say....?

To All Parents, Coaches but more importantly OUR future stars of Lichfield RFC... I am so PROUD of you ALL.

From start to finish Breakfast included... The whole Squad were brilliant... MASSIVE Thank you to ALL of the boys who came and supported on the day... Top Men.

We may not have got the result we wanted but in the opinion of the officials for the day "You played the better rugby and were the more skillful team". The reality is that Nerves also probably got the better of us in the first 10 mins.... they capitalised and scored 2 quick trys.

To the lads:

Like most teams we have played this season Wolverhampton were physically much bigger than you...HOWEVER... yet again you showed your resilience and came back to level the game (10 -10) at half time. You then pushed on again and took the lead 10 - 15!

When I think about this now... This was another "David vs Golliath" situation and "that" 20 min spell to come back from 10 nil down was a titanic performance and one to behold.

Ultimately "physically and mentally" it probably took its toll . We certainly had loads of opportunities to score in the second half... it was just one of those days where the ball just did not stick at the times when we needed.

Unfortunately that could not be said for our opponents.... It was definitely a good day at the office for them! Although the final score (30 - 15) does not reflect how close this epic final was.... Wolverhampton were the team that executed their game plan better on the day and were the deserved winners.

I must say that Wolves Coaches and Parents were a credit to their club and showed great respect in clapping our boys at the award ceremony.

We are looking forward to some great battles with them in the years to come!
