Another fantastic day on the field for the boys, securing a brilliant 35-0 victory over Hinckley and continuing what has been a really promising start to the season.

The biggest statement today, however, was the zero on the scoreboard against us.

After each game we have conceded less and less, and to keep a clean sheet in only our third outing together as a squad is a huge achievement. Hinckley were a physical, niggly side who asked plenty of us, particularly around the breakdown. Their big ball carriers meant our forwards had to dig in, front up in collisions and take real pride in their defensive work.

The breakdown was a tough test throughout, but once we secured and retained possession, our attack took care of the rest. In truth, there could have been even more points had we executed a little better out wide, which is an exciting thought considering the effort and quality already being shown this early in the season.

As always, it is difficult to single individuals out in such a strong team performance, but a few special mentions are deserved.

? Geth and Tosh were absolute jackal monsters at the breakdown all afternoon. ? Fin, Henry, Doug, Zach T and Big Geth all impressed in new positions, highlighting the versatility throughout the squad. ?️ Jacob in the backs and Jude in the forwards continue to lead our defensive standards. ⚡ Blake and Harry were silky in attack, showing excellent distribution and posing constant threats whenever they had the ball.

Today, though, belonged to the forwards. Even the Hinckley coach took the time to compliment Harvey and Shay for their outstanding defensive efforts and work around the rucks.

A thoroughly deserved recognition for two players who set the standard with their work rate, physicality and commitment.

Another quality performance from the whole squad. Plenty to be proud of, and plenty more still to come.
