There was no further score in the 4th period but this doesn’t begin to reflect the effort the Lichfield lads put in today, to a man they were tackling hard, aggressively targeting rucks and moving the ball around freely. If there could be a criticism it was that we tended to take the ball on that yard or two too far losing it in contact, didn’t always release the ball when we had clear overlaps and scoring opportunities, and our ball handling wasn’t at its best either unfortunately!
However…….from where we were 6 months ago to now, this criticism might seem a little churlish but such are the expectations around this group of lads now, they have turned a corner and should be extremely proud of their performances in the last month or so over what has been quite an intense period, I know I speak for the Coaches in saying how proud we are of them all, and what a great season 2021 / 2022 promises to be if we carry on with the levels of improvement and commitment we have shown to date – but this is up to the lads, it’s their individual and collective responsibility to pull together and work hard over the summer, in the Gym, running and studying the game to gain a better understanding, all this will help them immeasurably so they can hit the ground running in September
FINAL SCORE – Lichfield 14 – 26 Camp Hill
