In a closely contested match, Sutton Coldfield u14s faced a resilient visiting Lichfield side, looking to complete the season double over their local rivals.
Despite Sutton's majority possession, Lichfield's counter-attacking style and solid defence set the tone.
A superb opening try after 10mins by Luca Palmer (2nd row) during Lichfield’s first visit to the Sutton half, came following sustained pressure at the other end.
Lichfield were further ahead after a solo effort by captain Theo Thompson (flanker). The conversion by Dominic Carr (fly-half) gave Lichfield a useful lead at the break.

As the rain got heavier Lichfield nearly had a third try soon after the re-start following an audacious chip kick from Addison Tranter (centre) but Sutton scrambled the ball to safety just in time as Devan Kundi (winger) looked likely to finish.
Sutton's persistent possession in the second half saw them break through twice after a series of penalties were given against the visitors, but the missed conversion in the final minute cost them as Lichfield secured a narrow 2-point victory.
